Full speed ahead....

....seems to be our life right now....even though I was hoping things would slow down for a bit!

We have been busy with 4-H Club Days, where both "Cloverbud" and "Little Bullman" participated. "Little Bullman" gave a project talk called "4+1=? - Goat 'Math,'" about the challenges of kidding goats and multiple births....

Which brings me to our next update....

Round 2 of kidding has started! "Ruby", "Little Bullman's" prize show goat, had triplets yesterday, 1 doe and 2 little bucks. Although "Ruby" was starting to show some signs (hanging out in the shelter and "talking" more), we thought we had about 2 more weeks but we weren't sure since we take the does to a neighbor's to get bred. We have our fingers crossed since "Ruby" lost her kids last year after they had lived over 12 hours. Wish us luck and we will get some pictures up soon. The little doe is really cute. She has a brown rump with a little white on the tip of her tail. I told "Little Bullman" we need to call her "Fancy" short for "Fancy Pants" but he is not completely sold on the idea yet.

As "Goat 'Math'" goes, 3 does + 1 buck = 8 kids. We have one more doe, "Goldie," to kid. It will be her first time. Hopefully our numbers will grow again...4 + 1 = ????...;-)....
